We
believe that we serve under the authority of the hosting church. That
includes the way we conduct the invitation time. We will follow your instructions to make sure
that we do not confuse the congregation or go contrary to your church
doctrine. It is non-negotiable that we give children some type of
opportunity to accept the Lord. How this is done, however, can be modified
to insure consistency within the dynamics of the hosting
church.
The invitation time is age appropriate and
we
NEVER seek to compel children to make a decision that they are not ready
to make. Here are some elements typically included in one of our altar
calls.
- All the kids repeat the gospel message
out loud before the invitation is given.
- Three important scriptures are cited for
the benefit of the parents to explain why it is valid to lead children
to Jesus.
- Kids are told to raise their hands and
if they want to accept Jesus provided they have never done so before.
(rededications are not our purpose)
- They are told that they must tell the
worker why they want to make this decision. This helps to insure that
they are not coming forward because their friends did so. We qualify
each child to insure there is some understanding of what is happening.
- The event director leads the children in
a precise confession of faith in Jesus as Lord and Savior.
- The children pray to accept Jesus as
Lord and Savior.
- The event director prays for the
children citing Philippians 1:6.
- The children make a confession that
"Jesus is my best friend; He will never leave me."
- The children are turned over to the
Children's Pastor to send them back to their seats, give them
literature, talk with them about baptism, or whatever the local church
desires.
NOTE: Typically,
there are children who respond to the altar call at a Kidz Blitz LIVE
event. The response normally varies from ten to sixty children. Regardless
of the number responding we do not prolong the invitation time. We simply
want to provide a precise and clear opportunity for children to make a
public decision for Jesus. If no one responds, which is rare, the director
will begin to wind down the program.
